XDC Network review

Reviewed

Overview

XDC Network (originally XinFin) was founded by Atul Khekade and Ritesh Kakkad and launched its main network in 2019. It is an Ethereum-compatible blockchain designed for trade finance: the paperwork and payments behind international trade, such as invoices, letters of credit and export financing.

How it works

  • XDC uses delegated proof of stake with masternodes; institutions such as Deutsche Telekom, SBI Holdings, Hex Trust and Clear Street run validators.
  • Transactions settle in about 2 seconds for a tiny fee.
  • XDC supports financial-industry standards and tools for tokenizing trade receivables, invoices and loans.
  • Circle’s cross-chain transfer protocol brings native USDC to XDC.

Adoption in 2026

  • XDC processed a record 27.7 million transactions in July 2026, and over 1 billion in total.
  • In Japan, SBI’s XDC joint venture won a place in an Osaka program testing trade finance with digital corporate identities.
  • In Brazil, XDC is part of an industry initiative on tokenized bonds and funds.
  • The project reports over $1 billion in tokenized trade receivables and loans, a figure not independently verified.

The XDC token

XDC at a glance
Total supply about 38 billion XDC
In circulation (Oct 2026) about 19.9 billion
Price (29 Oct 2026) about $0.033
All-time high about $0.19 (August 2021)
Market cap about $660 million (#93)

Risks

  • Verification. Several key adoption numbers come from the project or its partners.
  • Pilots vs. production. Enterprise trade-finance projects often move slowly.
  • Token link. Business use doesn’t automatically create large demand for XDC.
  • Supply. Large amounts of XDC can still enter circulation.

XDC vs. the competition

Our verdict

XDC has a focused, practical niche and growing activity, with credible institutional partners. But adoption claims are hard to verify, and XDC is about 83% below its peak. XDC is a high-risk bet on trade finance moving on-chain. Invest only what you can afford to lose.
