Overview
SPX6900 is a parody meme coin launched on Ethereum in August 2023. Its name mocks the S&P 500 stock index (SPX), with the joke that this coin will one day “flip the stock market”. Its memes are deliberately absurd and retro.
SPX became popular in 2024–2025, championed by influencers who promoted the idea of a “memecoin supercycle”, and reached a market value of over $2 billion at its July 2025 peak.
How it works
SPX is a simple token with no product. It is available on Ethereum, Solana and Base, and listed on exchanges including Coinbase, Kraken and, since June 2026, South Korea’s Upbit and Bithumb.
The SPX token
| SPX at a glance | |
|---|---|
| Maximum supply | about 1 billion SPX |
| In circulation (Oct 2026) | about 931 million |
| Price (29 Oct 2026) | about $0.39 |
| All-time high | about $2.27 (July 2025) |
| Market cap | about $360 million (#125) |
Risks
- Pure meme. Its value depends entirely on attention and community belief.
- Volatility. Moves of 10–20% in a day are common.
- Influencer-driven. Promotion by a few large accounts can push the price up or down.

Our verdict
SPX6900 is a meme that knows it’s a meme, with a loyal community and good listings. But it has no fundamentals, and its price has fallen about 83% from its peak. SPX is a pure gamble: only use money you are fully prepared to lose.
