Overview
Bitget Token (BGB) is the token of Bitget, one of the world’s larger crypto exchanges, known for copy trading and derivatives. BGB launched in 2018.
BGB had a huge rally in late 2024, reaching about $8.45, helped by big burns and new uses.
How it works
- On Bitget: BGB holders get trading-fee discounts, access to Launchpool and token airdrops, and other benefits.
- Burns: In December 2024, Bitget burned 800 million BGB (40% of the original 2 billion) and merged its wallet token into BGB.
- Morph: In September 2025, Bitget moved 440 million BGB to the Morph Foundation. Half (220 million) was burned, and the rest is released at 2% per month. BGB became the gas and governance token of Morph, an Ethereum Layer 2 for payments and consumer apps. Future burns are tied to Morph activity until supply falls to 100 million.
The BGB token
| BGB at a glance | |
|---|---|
| Total supply (Oct 2026) | about 908 million BGB |
| In circulation | about 700 million |
| Price (29 Oct 2026) | about $1.87 |
| All-time high | about $8.45 (December 2024) |
| Market cap | about $1.3 billion (#67) |
Risks
- Exchange dependence. Problems at Bitget would hit BGB hard.
- Small chain. Morph’s activity is still limited, so BGB’s on-chain use is modest.
- Regulation. Bitget is not licensed in some major markets, including the US.
- Supply releases. Locked BGB is released to Morph every month.
BGB vs. the competition
| BGB | BNB | OKB | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Exchange | Bitget | Binance | OKX |
| Blockchain use | Morph (gas) | BNB Chain (gas) | X Layer (gas) |
| Supply | ~908 million, burning | ~131 million, burning | Fixed 21 million |
Our verdict
BGB is a well-designed exchange token with real perks and aggressive burns, and its new role on Morph gives it more uses. But it remains a bet on Bitget, and the price is about 78% below its 2024 peak. BGB is a high-risk investment: invest only what you can afford to lose.
