Short squeeze / long squeeze

Also called: squeeze · long squeeze

In shortA sharp move that forces crowded traders on one side to close their positions, pushing the price further the same way.

In a short squeeze, rising prices liquidate short sellers; their forced buying pushes the price higher, which liquidates more shorts. A long squeeze is the same in reverse. Extreme funding rates and high open interest are warning signs.
