Ethereum-style addresses start with 0x; Bitcoin addresses often start with bc1. Sending to the wrong address — or the right address on the wrong network — can mean losing the funds for good.
Always check the full address, not just the first and last characters: address poisoning scams rely on look-alike addresses.
